Cashing-in with cookies
Chefs at BaxterStorey and Holroyd Howe will be elbow-deep in cookie-dough this month when they prepare to bake 54,000 cookies in aid of Action Against Hunger.
In a bid to raise some £40,000 to fight childhood malnutrition, BaxterStorey and Holroyd Howe will be selling specially prepared oat and raisin cookies at their restaurants, delis and café bars across the country on World Food Day, 16 October 2013.
Grocery and Fresh Food supplier Brakes is also supporting the cause by providing all the cookie ingredients free of charge meaning every single penny of the treat’s 75p retail price will go to Action Against Hunger.
Dragon Boat race
A team of 16 from BaxterStorey and the RBS Group raised over £1,700 when they joined forces to compete in a Dragon Boat race this month. This was in a bid to raise money for the Back-Up Trust – a charity that helps people with spinal cord injuries adjust to everyday life.
Portico and Macmillan Cancer
Portico's GivingBack Foundation is pleased to announce its nominated charity for 2013 is Macmillan Cancer Support.
Portico’s family and friends aim to raise £5,000 this year through various fundraising activities, which will include the Anstruther Rotary East Neuk Coastal Walk, Great Midlands Fun Run, and the Tandem Skydive for our more adventurous colleagues.
1P PER CUP SCHEME
For every cup of Down to Earth coffee sold at our BaxterStorey locations, 1p is donated to the WSH Foundation. To date, we have raised over £300,000, a figure which continues to grow thanks to our employees, customers and clients buying coffee everyday.
